The Shayher Group has been joined by Par Jau of Taiwan in a joint venture to build the third tower of the Brisbane Quarter precinct. Shayher has again chosen Multiplex to do the work, estimated at $300 million as part of an overall $1 billion regeneration of the Brisbane CBD. The third tower, named The One, is a residential building of 84 storeys – high rise within the aviation – enforced limit of 274 metres.

Work is planned to start this month – September, 2018. The site upon which the towers are being completed was once that housing the Supreme Court of Queensland. The Brisbane Quarter precinct occupies nearly 8000 square metres of inner-city river front land, fronting George, Adelaide and Ann Streets, and North Quay. The triple tower development is making the area notably more attractive to the general public, potential residents and visitors. It includes riverside retail and dining ventures. The first of the towers, the W Hotel Brisbane of 34 storeys is to be completed in late 2018, followed by 300 George by mid 2019, then The One by 2021.

Multiplex Regional Manager Graham Cottram has described the development of the towers as a 5 star project. The development of these ultra-modern buildings is part of a larger scale, ongoing development of Brisbane aimed at establishing it as an exciting New World city which will enhance life for both the Brisbane public and Queenslanders, attract inter-state and international visitors and offer significant opportunities for international businesses and conferences.
